Dukes NYC voted as best wings at New York City WingFest II!
Congratulations to Dukes New York , which was crowned the king of NYC WingFest II this weekend! Six hundred wing lovers turned out at the 79th Street Boat Basin Cafe on Saturday, October 17th to chow down more than 7,000 wings from 10 amazing New York BBQ joints and wash it all down with 20 kegs of Southampton beer!
RUB BBQ placed second in the voting, while the reigning champ from NYC WingFest I, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, finished third. The crowd also gobbled up wings from Blue Smoke, Blondies, Firehouse Tavern, Village Pourhouse, East_End, Wogies , and Bonnies Grill . At the end of the day, though, it was Dukes tasty wings, plus decked-out display and crowd-favorite Dukes girls, that got them the big chicken trophy.
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que takes Inaugural New York City WingFest Title!
Two thousand wings, five wing havens, one champion. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was crowned the winner of the inaugural New York City WingFest this past Saturday at a wildly popular event sponsored by BroBible.com and TheSocialScholar.com. With Dinosaur executive chef Jeff Cooter Coon hand-saucing every batch of his sweet and not too spicy wings, the crowd of more than 180 wing lovers ate up every last wing and overwhelming hailed the West Harlem stalwart as the king of New York City wings. Blondies Sports placed second, with Atomic Wings just edging out Blue Smoke for third position. Croxleys Ale House & Eatery rounded out the five participants. A big shout out to the staff of Brother Jimmys in Murray Hill, to all our restaurant participants, and to everyone who showed up and voted for their favorite wings!
